Can’t believe we only have a week left, these two months are really fast. I started working on my presentation this week, and I almost finish it. Hopefully I can finish by this week, so next week I will have enough time to practice and give my best during the presentation. I am making a powerpoint, and I will also show some samples that I made during the presentation.

These days I did an experiment, and it is about making a surface for kids’ playground. The cool thing is that it is not just a normal surface, we also put fluorescent powder in it, so in the dark night, the playground will still be bright, and it will look really cool

These days I am just doing experiments, and today I saw a very interesting machine in the lab. The picture is showing the machine, and it is called Gas Chromatograph. If the experiments you did that makes you think you added the wrong material, you can use it to test if you really did wrong or not. You can put the sample that you think is wrong in it, and also put the right sample in it. If they match together, that means they are the same, the computer will show you.

These days I am just doing more experiments, and this picture is one of the experiments that I did. This stuff is used for the playground in school, like track field. It is green design, because the material that we use to make it are old tires. We use machine to break them into pieces and use our special liquid to jell them together. It is easy and healthy.

These days I did more experiments, and I finally finished works yesterday. I was suppose to finish it by last week, but the guy he gave me more papers to organize therefore I need more time to finish it. I put those papers in three boxes, and put them from large number to small number, so later it will be easier to organize if they have more paper.

Today I learned new stuff, the picture showing below is a machine called Titrator. This helps you find the water percentage in the liquid that you are testing. It was interesting, you just need to put the liquid that you want to test into the yellow liquid, and the machine will automatically calculate the water percentage in this liquid.

These days I was still organizing papers, and I almost finished them. I also did more samples in the lab, and some of them were interesting and they were in our daily life. Today’s sample that I made is the material in the seats in our car, also in the refrigerator and more daily stuff. People need this material to make those things.

Theses days are very interesting to me so far, I worked lots of samples in the lab, and today I did lots of paper works. I have to organize them by numbers but there are millions of papers, so it was really hard for me to organize, and I didn’t finish it. Hopefully I can finish them by next week!

Today was my first day doing my senior project, and I went to the company with my uncle. When I walked in, I feel like I was walking into Dr. Urbano’s classroom but much bigger because there are so many chemical stuff and lots of lab rooms. I did some samples about the liquid mix together and I felt it was very interesting. There are some cool stuffs in the lab and some of them I still didn’t know what they are but I will figure them out.

1.       Study of sustainable bioproducts from soybean oil to be used in polyurethane foam products

2.       Study of recycle rubber to be used in various consumer products;

My adviser is Dr. Urbano and he will help me with that!
